Alberta HUB

The Northeast Alberta Information HUB Ltd. Also known as "Alberta HUB”, is the Regional Economic Development Alliance (REDA) of Northeast Alberta. Their dedicated executive team, board of directors, and membership work together to ensure a strong alliance is maintained with local communities, businesses/industries, post-secondary educational institutions and government partners.

The region they support is uniquely located in a triangle corridor between the high population centre of Edmonton, the Saskatchewan border, and the resource rich areas to the north leading to Fort McMurray. Established in 2000 and incorporated as a not-for-profit society, Alberta HUB provides economic development support to its members and increases the awareness of our region as the place to invest, grow and live.

  • Regional Collaboration and Community Readiness – Foster collaborative partnerships that support the strategic growth and economic sustainability of the Alberta HUB region, communities and businesses.
  • Marketing and Communications – Promote the Alberta HUB region as an excellent choice to live, work and invest.

Vermilion River Regional Alliance (VRRA)

The Vermilion River Regional Alliance (VRRA) was established as a means of bringing together neighborhing municipalities to do the following:

  • Lobby the provincial government on matters of regional concern
  • Encourage tourism throughout the region
  • Pursue/Promote economic development throughout the region
  • Facilitate discussion of partnership projects/grants
  • Coordinate overlapping or mutually shared services
  • Develop a strategic plan for long-term direction for the region
  • Partner with other entities to the betterment of the VRRA members

The VRRA's main objectives are:

  • To build strong municipal leadership in the Vermilion River Region
  • To provide an opportunity to share emerging and best practices in the Vermilion River Region, while bringing awareness to the potential of shared initiatives
  • To strengthen regional working relationships
  • Be a collective voice to provincial and federal governments on regional issues
